Shipping and Delivery
At this time, The Pet Tank ONLY delivers to locations within the NR32, NR33, NR34 & IP18 UK post code areas. No goods are shipped, posted, couriered or delivered to addresses outside of the post code areas listed above.
We DO NOT supply third party individuals and do not give permission for other businesses to use our website. As a small, local business we supply our own customers directly.
If repeated attempts are made by the same individual to obtain shipping outside of our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to retain any associated costs that we incur as a result of issuing a refund e.g. PayPal fees and/or a 20% admin fee for credit/debit cards.
To be eligible for free local delivery a minimum spend of £25.00 is required.
Below this amount the following delivery charges apply:
Spend £1.00 to £9.99 = £2.50 delivery charge.
Spend £10.00 to £24.99 = £1.50 delivery charge.
Payment is required in full in advance of delivery via our online payment system.
All deliveries should be accepted in person and any delivery errors or breakages must be reported to the driver at time of delivery. If there is no-one home to accept a delivery, then it will be left in as safe a place, as can be reasonably found, at your own risk, unless you have requested in advance (via telephone or email) that goods are not to be left. If goods cannot be safely left and are returned to the shop then a re-delivery fee of £5 is payable. Where goods are left without being received in person no responsibility is accepted by The Pet Tank for any damage or loss to those items. Please be aware that deliveries are carried out during shop opening times only. PLEASE NOTE: we currently do not deliver on weekends or bank holidays.
Not all products listed on our on-line store are available in-store. Please telephone in advance to avoid disappointment. Items marked as *NOT INSTORE* need to be ordered from our supplier before the order can be fulfilled. Very occasionally these items may be unavailable from our supplier. If this occurs, we will contact you to discuss your options.
If an item is faulty then it must be reported to the shop within 24 hours of delivery and then promptly returned to the shop for inspection. Where the item is found to be faulty a replacement or refund will be issued.
We make every effort to deliver all orders within 5 working days. On rare occasions there may be a longer wait for delivery e.g. if an item is out of stock at the wholesaler. If we are unable to deliver within the expected time scale, we will contact you and endeavour to make alternative arrangements.
LIVE FOODS - The nature of the product means that there may be a small number of deceased or (in the case of insects) shed exoskeletons. This is perfectly normal and no refund or exchange will be given if the order is accepted at the time of delivery. The number supplied is an approximation and this takes into account a small number of losses.
